Found this during some random searching. Not Basque, exactly, but written by a Uberuaga (by marriage) and I thought it worth sharing.

\nIndispensable Man<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometime when you\u2019re feeling important;<\/strong>
\n Sometime when your ego\u2019s in bloom<\/strong>
\n Sometime when you take it for granted<\/strong>
\n You\u2019re the best qualified in the room,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometime when you feel that your going<\/strong>
\n Would leave an unfillable hole,<\/strong>
\n Just follow these simple instructions<\/strong>
\n And see how they humble your soul;<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take a bucket and fill it with water,<\/strong>
\n Put your hand in it up to the wrist,<\/strong>
\n Pull it out and the hole that\u2019s remaining<\/strong>
\n Is a measure of how you\u2019ll be missed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can splash all you wish when you enter,<\/strong>
\n You may stir up the water galore,<\/strong>
\n But stop and you\u2019ll find that in no time<\/strong>
\n It looks quite the same as before.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The moral of this quaint example<\/strong>
\n Is do just the best that you can,<\/strong>
\n Be proud of yourself but remember,<\/strong>
\n There\u2019s no indispensable man.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\"saxon-uberuaga\"<\/a>\u201cIndispensable Man\u201d was originally published in \u201cThe Nutmegger Poetry Club” under the name Saxon Uberuaga. It has also been published in \u201cBoots\u201d in Spring 1993, in \u201cThe Country Courier\u201d 1996, \u201cRhyme Time\u201d in Winter 2000, and in \u201cGolden Times\u201d in August 2003.<\/p>\n

Saxon White Kessinger was\u00a0a member (and past president) of Gem State Writers\u2019 League and a member of Idaho Writers\u2019 League. She was\u00a0an award winning writer, receiving Idaho Writers\u2019 League \u201c2003 Lifetime Achievement Award,\u201d \u201cWriter of the Year\u201d in 1992, 1995, and 2002 and \u201cPoet of the Year\u201d in 1999 and 2000 from her Idaho State Leagues. She published various poetry offerings and many articles in various newspapers and magazines. She died in 2010 in Idaho.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
