{"id":1585,"date":"2017-02-28T17:52:12","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T17:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buber.net\/Basque\/?p=1585"},"modified":"2017-02-28T17:52:12","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T17:52:12","slug":"a-traveling-exhibit-on-santiago-ramon-y-cajal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buber.net\/Basque\/2017\/02\/28\/a-traveling-exhibit-on-santiago-ramon-y-cajal\/","title":{"rendered":"A traveling exhibit on Santiago Ramon y Cajal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I first learned about Santiago Ram\u00f3n y Cajal from Vince Juaristi&#8217;s great book <a href=\"http:\/\/buber.net\/Basque\/?p=1576\">Basque Firsts: People Who Changed the World<\/a>.&nbsp;Ram\u00f3n y Cajal, a Spanish scientist born in Nafarroa, was the father of modern neuroscience, developing the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neuron_doctrine\">neuron doctrine<\/a> of the brain that said the brain was composed of neurons connected by synapses.
