BARATCART (Baratziart)
Originally of Laburdi.
This surname comes from the basque "baratz" (meaning juerto,
or vegetable garden) and "art" or "arte" (meaning entre or
between). So it may have been that the original house was
between gardens or that it overlooked the place to cross
through the gardens.
The coat of arms is a field a field of gold, on which there
is a green tree. At the foot of the tree stands a black
wounded wild boar.
