ERNAUT this surname is a basque variation of the christian name ARNAUD
(like other variations like Enaut, Arnaut etc), and still exist as first
name, I have not many information about it, but is documented in
Behenabarra in 1879, in the Village Aldude (Les Aldudes), the meaning of
the surname is probably "The house of Arnaud", there are other simmilar
surname with the same meaning Ernautena
