ECHENOZ (ETXENOZ)
This is a very unusual surname, and in Most of the books I have there is
nothing about it. I think that there is not actually any family with this
surname living in the Basque Country.
The meaning is ETXE: House, NO: Diminitive, Z: sufix with the meaning of
Place, so the complete meaning is "The place of the small house" or simply
"The small house"
There are families with this surname in Gascoigne: Pouillon, and Paris.
I have not found anything about the origin, but by the sound and the aspect
I think that can be Navarre.
