GALLAGA
This surname has origin in Lemona, Vizcaya in the XVI century.
I do not know the meaning of the name. The only author who writes about
it's meaning is Lopez-Mendizabal and at times his translations are
questionable. Here is what he says: Pasture (from ala or aia or alla)
with a suffix of "aga" (denoting location or "place of") and a "g"
protetica.
The coat of arms is gold with a chevron of blue and two iron mallets
above and a red lion (standing on his hind legs) below.
