LACHIONDO Basque surnames are names of houses, your surname is clearly
from Bizkaia, but in Bizkaia there is not any house with this name, so I
think it is clear that Lachiondo or Latxiondo, is a variation of Natxiondo
(Nachiondo). If is not a variation then the meaning would be: Close to the
stream, LASA or LATSA means stream, and ONDO means in toponims close to or
near to. I have found an article wrote by A. Urriolabeitia saying also that
is a variation of Natxiondo, he says that there were in lekeitio people
with this surname that pronounce it Latxiondo
