VASQUEZ I think is not a basque surname, this is a variation of VAZQUEZ,
and is a patronimic, the sufix EZ means "son of", is not very clear the
origin of VAZQ, there are authors defending that is BASQUE, but most of
them think is BELASKO,or BLASCO, that gives Velazquez, Blazquez,
Vazquez....
